Why we love it:

A series of small cramped rooms in this 1912 John Calvin Stevens home were combined to make a large family kitchen commensurate with the way the homeowners, a busy young family, live today. The character-filled home enjoys many of the original details and the new kitchen offered an exciting opportunity to combine a traditional and modern approach. Using the Exeter series, by Rutt Handcrafted Cabinetry, the doors and trim have enough subtle detail to feel familiar in the traditional sense while offering a clean simplicity. The cabinetry is painted Evening Sky by Benjamin Moore and quartersawn white oak base cabinets and accents add welcome lightness and texture. The stone countertops are an earthy leathered granite that feels natural in the space while the handmade Hubbardton Forge light fixtures in aged brass complete the new space perfectly.
